discover the lasting benefits of an ancient art of self-healing...
Reconnect and rebalance your heart, mind, and body through Hermit Yoga. Dynamic, mindful movement, holding relaxed postures, self-massage, meditation, and breathwork are combined to boost your vitality, promote longevity, and bring you into a healthy mind-body balance. As a daily practice, Hermit Yoga can help you reverse long or short-term imbalances caused by physical, emotional, or mental stresses. Hermit Yoga is a thoughtful blend of Reusi Dat Ton and Yin Yoga. Together they empower you with the tools to keep your body, heart, and mind healthy and well-balanced.
Reusi Dat Ton is an ancient exercise practice from Thailand developed by forest monks who needed to balance their bodies and maintain their general health. Cut off from the outside world, forest monks sit in meditation for extended periods, leaving them stiff and sore. Needing to regain mobility after these long periods of sitting in contemplation, they developed the meditative movement practices we know today as Reusi Dat Ton. The most common exercises are depicted on ancient statues and in original drawings paired with metaphorical descriptions of the healing purpose of each exercise. You may notice some Hermit Yoga exercises feel similar to the stretches and movements during Thai bodywork.
Yin Yoga is the still, quiet counterpart of an active, vigorous yoga practice. It's a contemplative process, focusing on the deeper tissues of the body. Using familiar floor yoga postures held from 3 to 6 minutes or more, you'll gain a deep sense of awareness and connection to your body by learning to relax into every part of it.
Our physical, mental, and emotional health are intimately intertwined. Through mindful self-care practices like Hermit Yoga, we can improve our awareness of these connections and influence their effect on our overall health and wellness.
No previous yoga experience is necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing in which you can move and stretch.
